ECG of the month is an opportunity for AWH clinical staff to practice their ECG interpretation knowledge and skills.
At the start of each month two ECGs will be made available - one will be covering fundamental ECG interpretation and the other more extended skills or scenarios.
These ECGs can be downloaded, along with the resources available on this page and you are encouraged to work through the ECG over the month.
At the end of the month we will post the solutions. Please note that we were posting videos of working through the Fundamental ECG but this hasn't had a lot of interest so from October we will instead be offering a 1 hour drop in session instead. This will allow staff to check their interpretation and, hopefully, learn some new tips and tricks.
Please note that in the clinical setting ECGs are simply part of a more thorough patient assessment and should not be considered in isolation. While interpreting ECGs for your own learning is important it should not delay referral - all ECG changes should be reviewed by a senior clinician ASAP.
If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to reach out to me at lauren.crossley@awh.org.au

*Please note that these tools are to assist beginners and so some areas may have a simplistic assessment ie Axis or ST elevation
Basic 12 lead ECG Interpretation Demo
This video works through the method outlined in the above resources to review a 12 lead interpretation. It goes through each step to do a simple interpretation of an ECG.
